Returning to Melbourne after years in Singapore, the owners of this Hawthorn home were ready to reshape their family’s living space. Cranberry Design was engaged to reimagine the internal layout, design a custom furniture and decor package, and bring in a sense of warmth that reflected both their travels and daily rituals.

We preserved the home’s best features—like the original fireplace and beloved oak tree—while updating key elements for a more functional and contemporary lifestyle. Durable surfaces, Australian hardwoods, and locally made furniture created a layered foundation for family life and entertaining.

The kitchen was a true collaboration with Max, the family chef, who helped guide the layout for maximum function and flow. Nat and Max’s home workspaces were designed to suit their distinct personalities, with Nat embracing soft colours and wallpaper, and Max opting for geometric lines.

Personal details abound: art and souvenirs from their travels, a son’s handcrafted lamp, and meaningful family touches that bring modern love to life.
